I’m Jacqui Wood, creator and founder of Essential Menopausal Retreats.
I have worked as a holistic beauty therapist for over 20 years and have recently qualified in Shiatsu. I have combined this with my own experience of the perimenopause and menopause which was a journey of self-discovery and a natural process for women to experience.
Trying to seek real life informed advice and support was a minefield with a lack of general understanding of and research-based knowledge of the menopause. The lack of an integrated approach to women’s health left me often confused, disappointed and certainly not empowered.
After reading many books and applying my knowledge of Chinese medicine, I decided to develop an integrated approach to women’s menopausal health to address both the mind and the body.
I have now embarked on a mission to support other women to understand their own bodies and to move forward with compassion knowledge and self-empowerment.
My aim for the retreat is to create a safe, nourishing and empowering workshop environment using yoga for movement and a comprehensive psychological biological and cultural workshop Shiatsu treatments and plant-based food.
